Through transformer you have flows of active and reactive power on their way to consumer, so you need to know quantity of power (active and reactive) which flows through transformer...
It's correctly to say that is value of active power equal with value of apparent power under value of power factor which is equal 1, but, in case of transformer, you'll never have value of power factor which is equal with 1 (except in case you have installed bank capacitor in surrounding of transformer), because you have reactive power which flow through transformer which is necessary for creating of electromagnetic field inside transformer and for creating of electromagnetic field inside transformer, you will require a quantity of reactive power for magnetising of ferromagnetic core.
